The ThreePress® Bandaging System is used to effectively manage venous leg ulcers and related conditions. Composed of three bandages that work together, the ThreePress Bandaging System provides effective sustained compression for up to seven days when applied as directed.
The easy-to-read Layer Two Indicator Bandage maximizes stretching accuracy. The rectangular pattern on the Layer Two Compression Bandage clearly converts to a square when the correct amount of stretch (50%) is applied. ThreePress also features Coban™ LF, a latex-free cohesive bandage from 3M that’s easy to unroll and apply.
Description
Layer One: Padding Bandage - a cotton padding layer bonded to a thin foam backing. The padding layer is easy to mold around the foot and ankle and protects bony prominences.
Layer Two: Compression Bandage - conforms easily to the contours of the ankle, foot and leg. The light compression bandage features an easy-to-read indicator that helps maximize the accuracy of stretching during application.
Layer Three: Cohesive bandage – latex-free bandage that adheres to itself and secures Layers One and Two without tape.
The rectangular pattern on Layer Two clearly converts to a square when the bandage is stretched to 50%.
For use in the management of venous leg ulcers and related conditions (an appropriate primary wound dressing should be applied before using the bandaging system)
Contra-Indications Determine the Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI) using a Doppler ultrsound. An ABPI less than 0.8 may indicate the presence of significant arterial disease. Do not use the ThreePress® Bandaging System if the patient’s ABPI is less than 0.8, or if arterial disease is suspected.
Precautions Before applying ThreePress® , measure the ankle circumference. If the circumference is less than 18cm (7 1/8”), be sure to pad the ankle and Achilles tendon before applying compression Layers Two and Three.
